A present from the past, delivered with no return address..

This piece draws inspiration from the mailman sling bags of midcentury America, this time colored by shades of Sakiori, a little known Japanese textile thats been around since the 1600s, made by weaving together recycled scraps of fabric.  The base of the bag is constructed from antique Japanese sakiori, and is lined by antique Japanese indigo fabric.  

Divinity is in the details see, while most mailbags come with an unsealable open mouth, ours can be secured by a centered antiqued button, and is held securely across your body or over your shoulder with an antique Japanese sling strap.  The Old News bag is sized 16" W x 12" H x 6" D with a 37" strap.
