“Get a Clue, Blue” Composted Levi’s Boro 501

The hand picked vintage 501 features a curated selection of decades to century old japanese indigo for the patchwork, with 80s Made In USA bandana stacked upon 1950s era American denim for the blowouts, all secured by hand by many hours of Sashiko handstitching and distress work. 

A missing puzzle piece, now found.

This pair of hand crafted Levi’s 501 completes my “Kind of Blue” mini Drop, the first half of which was released as the “Scabs” OG-107.
The mini capsule draws inspiration, visually and nominally from the seminal Miles Davis album.
While the “Scabs” 107 was inspired by track 3, titled “Blue in Green,” this pair owes its design language to the name of the album, and the inspiration it gave me to dive into the relationship between different kinds of blue.
Although I’ve been focused on the tonal interplay of the color for quite some time, I realized recently that I hadn’t made a pair that focused solely on this relationship. Both pair attempt to emphacize this, using two different design and material approaches.
